And of course, a parrot in visible sight.... 
If your reception is on the beach, you may be able to get a hold of some old wooden barrels. Line the barrels with plastic and fill with ice. They will make great coolers for beer and wine. A help yourself bar would be in order for a casual event as this. Sailing maps and charts can be hung on the walls. Treasure maps would be fun on the dining tables as an overlay.
