Beach wedding budget and how you can save by having a beach wedding

Your beach wedding budget might surprise you. Having a wedding on the beach or a destination wedding can actually cost you less then the traditional wedding. Of course, it will depend on choices

Here are some ways:

  • Keep it simple, by doing so you can pass on an elaborate wedding venue

  • Your wedding and reception can be in the same spot, therefore saving on paying for two locations.

  • The charge for using a public beach is no more than the cost of a permit, a lot less than using a wedding hall, museum, park, boat, botanical gardens or whatever. I know of places that charge upwards of $10,000.000 just to use the venue. That is not even taking into consideration the cost of food and beverage and rentals, flowers, entertainment and more!

  • You can save by having your wedding at a resort that does not serve food and beverage. It is all fine and good to have the "one stop shopping" of a gorgeous resort in the Caribbean or Hawaii or even here in Florida. But, you will save on having to deal with a number of vendors, but it will cost you more. Even if you are having your wedding at a resort, they will charge you a rental fee for the beach, it could be $2,000.00-$3,000.00 for the use of their beach, this can start to really blow your beach wedding budget!

  • By having your wedding at a location that is not owned by a major hotel chain and does not have food and beverage served, you have the option of getting these things yourself, i.e. alcohol, etc.
  • Your wedding dress and the attendants wedding attire will cost less

  • The food for sure, can be more casual, and therefor less costly

  • Decorations are less elaborate - you have the beauty of the beach, what could be a more decorative?


    • APPROXIMATE COSTS FOR A SIMPLE BEACH WEDDING CEREMONY-

  • Simple arch with flowers - $275.00

  • Beach Wedding officiant - $250.00 (not including license)

  • Chairs (plastic)- $1.50 each plus delivery charge

  • Photographer for ceremony, 45 minutes - $295.00

  • Permit for Public beach use, $75.00

  • Music (live, steel drum) - $250.00

    • This would be a simple set up - you don't necessarily need to have chairs and there are other options, of course.
