Your beach wedding budget - a beach wedding will save money

Your beach wedding budget might surprise you. Having a wedding on the beach or a destination wedding can actually cost you less.

Here are some great reasons for having a beach wedding

  • You will keep it simple, by doing so you will automatically pass on an elaborate wedding venue
  • Your wedding and reception can be in the same spot, therefore you will save on paying for two separate locations. There is also a cost for transportation when using one spot for ceremony and one for reception, that is true for out-of-town guests.
  • Get married on a public beach, the charge for using a public beach is no more than the cost of a permit, a lot less than using a wedding hall, a museum,a park, a boat, the botanical gardens or whatever. I know of places that charge upwards of $10,000.000 just to use the venue. That is not even taking into consideration the cost of food and beverage and rentals, flowers, entertainment and more!

  • You can save by having your wedding at a resort that does not serve food and beverage. It is all fine and good to have the "one stop shopping" at a gorgeous resort in the Caribbean or Hawaii or even here in Florida. You will not have to deal with a number of vendors, but it will cost you more because you have to abide by their rules - no choices. Even if you are having your wedding at a resort, they will charge you a rental fee for the beach, it could be $2,000.00-$3,000.00 for the use of their beach, this can start to really blow your beach wedding budget!

  • By having your wedding at a location that is not owned by a major hotel chain and does provide food and beverage, you have the option of getting these things yourself, i.e. alcohol, etc. Of course, this is when I advise to enlist the help of a professional in guiding you. This does not always work when you are planning a destination wedding, in which case an all-inclusive package is sometimes worth the money you will pay just for the convenience.

  • Your wedding dress, which is a big chunk of your beach wedding budget, and the attendants wedding attire will cost less, far less. Those cute sundresses are not going to cost anywhere near what a formal gown will and your attendants will surely wear them again.

  • The food for sure, can be more casual, and therefore less costly. Of course, you can get crazy here as well with certain choices, but know that you can take the casual, less expensive route and no one will no the difference.

  • Decorations are less elaborate - you have the beauty of the beach, what could be a more decorative?
  • By having a beach wedding, you will save on the costs of centerpieces,

  • The table centerpieces do hot have to be as elaborate on the beach. You can go much more simple. You are not having to create the ambiance for the wedding from scratch.
  • Your guest attendance will be up. No doubt about it especially if it is a destination wedding. Many people will make an effort to attend and perhaps make a long weekend of it or a mini vacation.
  • Very important - your guests and you will have a great time!
